Flexers Official Biography
The Kenyan urban and alternative music group named Flexers is a diverse secular and inspirational entertainment music group that was founded in the year 2020 with a mission to create music with a difference and relevant music that resonates with audiences across the board. The trio comprising of Colly Mejjah, PainKiller and Alvino is currently based in Nairobi Kenya though two of the members, Colly & Alvino have lived in the coastal province of Kenya before moving to Nairobi for work and studies. The group whose name comes from the adjective “Flexible draws inspiration from the diverse Nairobi urban and metropolitan culture, an influence that can be heavily felt on the music they create. Having worked with renown Kenyan producer, Ello G on their debut project titled “the One”, Flexers broke into the music scene garnering praise from music review platforms such as the Express Show among others.
The group of 3 has shown dedication to succeed in the industry having members that initially started out as solo artists before forming the group to bring together their collective creativity and energy as one strong formidable group. From their strong and rather favorable music base where the group members first meet in Rongai town, a metropolitan town known to have strong roots in Hiphop music and home to some of the popular music stars, artists and producers in Kenya, Flexers have learned by observation and participation and honing their collective skills marking tremendous growth even against challenges such as the global pandemic that adversely affected the industry in their first year. The Flexers first debut project, “the one” produced in 2020 at Ello G music production studios gave fans the opportunity to explore the nature of music by Flexers with each of the 3 members playing a vital role in the creation of the banger that fuses an element of Afrofusion and rap.
Though not officially signed to any music label or production label yet, Flexers have a promising future in the industry as all the members have gradually become seasoned music writers and performers worth to reckon with individually and collectively. The vibrant and talented trio has worked with Kiarie the director, who shot and directed their debut project that catapulted them to the spotlight. The group aspires to grow in music catalogue discography and fanbase reaching new audiences through their diverse digital music streaming platforms such as youtube music where their music can be found under the group name Flexxers official.
The group eyes music award nominations and grand collaborations in future with fellow music counterparts based in Africa and beyond such as Sauti sol, Nadia, Nasty C among others. Underscoring the vision of the group, Colly Mejja asserts that the main drive that motivates the group is to see their fans get motivated, inspired and entertained through the music with a unique blend of afrofusion and sheng rap that sets apart flexers from the rest in the industry. On a mission to achieve this music grand vision, Flexxers is bound to release new music and video on a regular to satisfy the fans demands and also revolutionalise the Kenyan music industry.
