DCI Sounds alarm over a suspected fraud syndicate operating within Nairobi’s Central Business District

The Criminal Investigations Director (DCI) has raised an alert at the insurgency in the CBD of Nairobi by an alleged scam union. In a report, the DCI noticed that several reports were received from citizens of the public who criticized the barbarian criminals for being nasty. The description partially says "The well-organized trade union comprises of youthful ladies and males who are selling on behalf of the main suspect."   DCI's alarm comes two weeks after the bottled robbery targeting legendary Kenyan actor Ainea Ojiambo in broad daylight along Moi Avenue, as seen in a viral CCTV.

DCI has notified the members of the public who may have been hoodwinked by the fraudsters to report to DCI headquarter under the Serious Crime Unit. Following the findings they promised to take the appropriate measures from the police.

In December 2020, a published source  indicates a man was attracted to their notorious offer "scratch to win" deal.   He was headed to work and there seemed to be too much of a chance of bagging a new smartphone and tablet in front of him.

Under disguise representing a local telco firm, a group of persons had branded a van with images of all forms of clever devices. From that point on, the victim was hooked. He continued to take part in the 'scratch-to-win' promotion, winning 2 tablets, 2 phones, Bluetooth earphones, a charger and a USB reader. However, he had to allocate some cash in order to obtain each of these awards. Each item drained Ksh36,000 from his personal account.

The costly boxes would only be opened to find low cost knockout equipment valuable at an average value of Ksh 4,000.
