Legal documents suggest that Mr Irungu forwarded the complaint to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations' Serious Crimes Unit (DCI).The Judge noted that Sergent Sevelina Kalunge was informed by the defendant that Mr Kiburu had produced a report in order to be admitted to Shinners Technical College of Murang'a town for a certificate course in the examinations of the Kenya Secondary Education Certificate (KCSE).

CM François Andayi found that Mr Irungu wanted to trigger the policeman to examine, detain and prosecute Mr Kabugu by providing the legal officers with the fake detailInquiries have also found out those charges are not valid, contributing towards the detention of Mr Irungu and the legal trial which began on Monday.

He perpetrated the crime at the DCI headquarters on 28 November 2019.Mr Irungu rejected the accusation and tried to raise it on fair conditions of obligation."With the Covid-19 pandemic that affected economic status of the majority of companies worldwide I've been out of work some time now," he stated.
