The Man who Invented Safaricom's "Please Call me Service" Rejects 354 Million, Moves to Court Again

People who are using Safaricom's networks have access to a technology dubbed "please call me," which they appreciate. Clients may use this feature to deliver a quick sms to several clients demanding a callback. The program is particularly useful if you don't have sufficient airtime to render a phone call.



Nevertheless, the product has recently become a point of contention amongst Safaricom and a 44-year-old dude called Nkosana Makate, a previous worker at Vodacom, Safaricom's mother corporation The worker has frequently declared to be the one who came up with the idea.

Makate has already declined a reimbursement offer worth 354 million ksh from the Telecommunications company, according to The Daily Nation, and he has then lodged a new lawsuit in arbitration.



In this scenario, this same creator of "please call me" is seeking reimbursement in the amount of Ksh 75 billion, claiming that the 354 million offer is insufficient. He says because this innovation has netted the business approximately 1.5 trillion shillings. The lawsuit having remained in the courtroom for a long time, yet Makate and his lawyers representatives were asking the judge to decide how much he must be compensated.
